Skylla-TG Charger - 24/30 GMDSS This Victron Skylla-TG 24/30 Charger has been designed to provide all required monitoring and alarm data. Both the battery and the GMDSS system are connected directly to the charger. Data and alarms are displayed on a digital panel (VE.Net GMDSS panel, to be ordered separately). A standard eight-wire UTP cable connects the charger to the panel. GMDSS The Global Maritime Distress & Safety System (GMDSS) was developed by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to improve maritime distress and safety communications. Power Supply The Skylla TG has proven itself to be an excellent battery charger and power supply for GMDSS applications. However, when using a standard Skylla charger, additional equipment is needed to perform the monitoring and alarm functions required for GMDSS. Installation Made Easy: The Skylla GMDSS The Victron Skylla GMDSS Charger has been designed to provide all required monitoring and alarm data. Both the battery and the GMDSS system are connected directly to the charger. Data and alarms are displayed on a digital panel (VE.Net GMDSS panel, to be ordered separately). SmallBMS for Smart LiFePO4 Batteries with M8 A simple and low-cost alternative to the VE.Bus BMS. The smallBMS can replace the VE.Bus BMS in several applications. It is however not suitable for use with VE.Bus MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers: it has no VE.Bus interface. The smallBMS is intended for use with Victron Smart LiFePo4 batteries with M8 circular connectors. The smallBMS has three outputs, similar to the VE.Bus BMS. Load Disconnect output The Load output is normally high and becomes free-floating in case of the cell under voltage (default 2,8V/cell, adjustable on the battery between 2,6V and 2,8V per cell). Maximum current: 1A. The Load output is not short-circuit protected. The Load output can be used to control:
Pre-alarm output The pre-alarm output is normally free-floating and becomes high in case of the imminent cell under voltage (default 3,1V/cell, adjustable on the battery between 2,85V and 3,15V per cell). Maximum current: 1A (not short circuit protected). The minimum delay between pre-alarm and load disconnect is 30 seconds. Charge disconnect output The Charger output is normally high and becomes free-floating in case of imminent cell overvoltage or over-temperature. Maximum current: 10mA. The Charger output is not suitable to power an inductive load such as a relay coil. The Charger output can be used to control:
System on/off input The system on/off input controls both outputs. When off, both outputs will be free floating so that loads and chargers are turned off. The System on/off consists of two terminals: Remote L and Remote H. A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected between L and H. Smart Battery Sense Long Range (Up to 10M) The VE.Bus Smart dongle is a Bluetooth Smart enabled VE.Bus interface, with battery temperature-and-voltage sensing. It communicates system information straight to your smart phone - using the free-to-use VictronConnect app. When used with Multi- inverter/chargers the dongle provides on-battery temperature and voltage sensing capabilities - allowing compensation for possible cable losses which can occur during charging and discharging. Temperature sensing allows accurate temperature-compensation during battery charge cycles. The dongle is, at present, the only way to add an “on-battery” sensing capability to the MultiPlus-II models, if they are not also connected to a GX device and CANbus battery. The dongle can be used in systems with or without a GX device - such as the CCGX. In systems with a GX device, and another source of temperature and voltage data (eg from a CANbus battery), the CCGX data will override temperature and voltage information from the dongle. In this role the dongle will still provide live-information via its VictronConnect interface; and it will provide firmware updates without requiring an internet connection. When the dongle is used in systems which do not have a GX device, the dongle's voltage and temperature data becomes the primary source of that information, and can be used by other connected devices for voltage compensation. In systems with a Multiplus-II, dongle and GX device, but no other source of temperature and voltage, the data from the dongle will also be used. At this time, the VE.Bus Smart dongle cannot send its temperature and voltage data as part of a VE.Smart network. The VE.Bus Smart dongle is able to sense battery temperature in two ways: The default method is the dongle's on-board temperature sensor. When the dongle is mounted directly onto the battery case (using its adhesive attachment) it will sense the battery temperature directly from the battery casing. The second method - which provides improved battery temperature sensing - is available by using an optional battery-terminal mounted sensor. The BMS CL 12/100 monitors and protects each individual battery cell within the battery (or battery bank) and will disconnect the alternator, charge sources, or DC loads in case of low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or over temperature. MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger connects to a PV array of 150 or 250 Volt Voc and will automatically detect and charge your 12, 24, or 48V battery bank with current ranging from 70 to 100A depending on the model.
