Our Leaf & Flower Catnip is our "original shake"- a ground mixture of only the leaves and flowers from the catnip plant. We try to filter out as much of the stalk as possible because the stalk has none of the nepetalactone that attracts the cats! So our Leaf & Flower Catnip is a very potent blend, something you will notice when you examine our catnip.
How to use our catnip: we recommend that you keep your catnip stored in it's airtight bag, in the fridge or freezer for maximum length of potency. All your cat needs is a PINCH in between your finger and thumb! Yup, that's all! Just rub your fingers together to release all the oils stored in the catnip. You can either just drop the catnip on the ground, put it in or on a toy, or if you want to correct some unwelcome behaviors (such as stopping some furniture scratching) put that magical little pinch of stinky goodness onto a scratching post right next to your furniture and...voila! The attraction begins and bad behaviors will cease! Silvervine - This has to be the strangest product we carry but honestly one of the most popular items cats just can't get enough of! Silvervine is a small fruit grown in Asia (cousin to the Kiwi fruit! How odd!) that is the Eastern equivalent to catnip. The powder is noted in various studies to have a higher effectiveness rate on cats than catnip anywhere from 75-90%, whereas catnip’s effectiveness rate is somewhere between 65-85%. It is offered in a screw top metal tin so your cat can't pull the Shady card once they find out how much they LOVE Silvervine! We also offer a sample size of Silvervine as part of our Sampler Set.
What do you DO with Silvervine???
Well, it's pretty much the same as catnip, but no need to rub between your fingers to release the essential oils! Just take a small pinch between your fingers and either put it in the lid of the tin and set it down and your cat will lick it up and get sillier than silly, or you can put that same small amount in a toy, on a toy, on a scratch post or the floor! A little pinch goes a long way and this tin will last a very long time! Just make sure you screw the lid on tight because your cat(s) will love this odd, brown, crumbly stuff! You've been warned ;)

These dried catnip flowers are the most potent form of catnip, period. Nepetalactone is the natural chemical in catnip that make cats goofy and help them relax. The Nepetalactone is contained in the essential oil of the catnip plant. The flower portion of the plant holds the highest concentration of essential oil. There is less nepetalactone in the leaves. Buds are not easy to come by. They must be hand-harvested and delicately trimmed and packaged to remain intact. They must be harvested at the peak of freshness and are a seasonal product. Get them while you can!
